San Diego Region Hosts Regional National at Ventura Cove

     The San Diego Region CLC held its annual Regional National Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Ventura Cove Park on beautiful Mission Bay in San Diego.  The Las Vegas and Sonora Regions were strongly represented, enticed by the welcome cool waterside temperatures, a welcome break from the sizzling heat of their home turf.  Colin Christe of the Las Vegas Region delighted attendees and spectators alike with his 1917 Cadillac Touring Car.  Not to be outdone, Mel Martin of the Sonora Region showed his stunning 1929 Cadillac Dual-Cowl Phaeton.

     A pair of 1939 LaSalles was a welcome sight on the show field, introducing passers-by to a marque many had never heard of before.  Some personal favorites included a Rosewood 1960 Fleetwood with matching interior, a breath-taking 1958 Eldorado Biarritz (with all its vanities intact!), and a cheerful blue 1971 Eldorado Convertible with white top and interior, whose owner brought it all the way from New York State by way of Phoenix.

     Congratulations go out to the San Diego Region, and especially to events coordinator Gary Sisk, for putting on a wonderful show and a great day.  We look forward eagerly to next year!
